Self Talk the Proper Way

Don’t use negatives in your self talk. What I mean by that is, don’t say “I’m not going to eat cake anymore.” That’s negative and you brain will cancel out the negative. So your mind hears, “I’m going to eat cake…” Rephrase it to encompass all your bad eating habits in one shot. Something like, “I make better eating choices to help me achieve my weight loss goal.” That statement doesn’t say you can never eat cake again. That’s unrealistic. You’ll just make better choices about when and how much. If you give yourself permission to eat what you want, you will never feel deprived and feel the need to eat the entire cake versus just a slice.
